Mechanical Preservation
- Prime the oil system before first startup after rebuild
- Use high-zinc oil for flat tappet cam engines
- Inspect cooling annually (overheating causes major failures)
- Replace old rubber fuel lines with ethanol-safe hose
Fiberglass & Body Integrity
- Avoid aggressive sanding heat (fiberglass distorts)
- Test-fit panels before final paint
- Inspect bonding strips during C3 restoration work
- Use pro-grade panel bonding adhesives only
Interior Preservation
- Replace seat foam when installing new covers
- Use SEM Color Coat for factory-correct vinyl refinishing
- Install sound deadening before carpet
- Protect dash pads from UV exposure
Storage & Long-Term Care
- Use fuel stabilizer for seasonal storage
- Maintain battery with a tender
- Control humidity to prevent corrosion and mold
- Adjust tire pressure to prevent flat spots
